  1. “Though a body is small and frail”, said Leonardo, “the spirit it contains can be immeasurable.”  Why is it “what’s inside” that is more important than your physical appearance?
  2. When Roberto asks his mother if it is wrong to want to fly because God didn’t give us wings, she reminds him that He didn’t give us shoes or the wheel either.  What do you think she meant?
  3. Lady Cecilia called Leonardo a “great dreamer”.  What did he do about his dreams?  How can you plan actions that will help your dreams come true?
  4. Leonardo made his discoveries through looking carefully at things and experimenting.  How does observing and experimenting help you learn?

 

 

 

Galileo Video Questions

 

  1. At first, Cosimo believed that Galileo’s explanation of the stars went against “everything wise men know”.  Why is it dangerous to accept what others tell you without finding out for yourself?
  2. Until he changed his arrogant attitude, Cosimo wasn’t able to learn from the great Galileo.  How can your attitude keep you from learning?  How can it help?
  3. Galileo believed it was important to “play like a child at invention”.  What do you think he meant?  What do you do to make learning fun?

4.  When the cardinal warned Galileo to keep his “wild and unorthodox discoveries”
