Survival of the Fittest Games            Name ________________________

 

            The ability of an organism, plant or animal, to ADAPT to its surrounding is key for that organisms survival.  It is not always the strongest, fastest, or biggest organism that survives.  Often it is more important to be smart, or quick, or small, or even well camouflaged. 

            Today, you will be “tested” in four different areas to see how well you can adapt and survive.  YOU MAY WITHDRAW FROM ANY COMPETITION WHENEVER YOU WISH.  However, you are encouraged to do your best in each competition.

 

1.  Arm Wrestling

            You will be arm wrestling against various partners.  The person with the last name farther down the alphabet gets to choose which arm you wrestle with.  Once you lose, you are out.  You will then wrestle one of the surviving animals.  This will continue until only one animal is left.

2.  Holding your Breath.

            You will be attempting to hold your breath longer than your partner.  Once you lose, you are out.  You should plug the nose of your partner, and they yours, to be sure no one is breathing through their nose.  The last one standing wins.

3.  Quiz Bowl

            During this competition, you will be asked various science questions.  Again, you will be competing against a partner.  The first person to answer the question will continue on.  Once you lose, you are out.  The competition will continue until only one person is left.

4.  Eating Contest

            During this competition, you will be eating various foods.  This competition will be done on an individual basis.  Once you choose to drop out, you may not join the competition later.
